Next stop was Valpo, a charming city and one of Chile’s most important seaports. I don’t know why, but cities with a port always feel “special” for me. I guess it’s ’cause you could imagine going anywhere in the world over the wide open sea…
The city is build upon several steep hills, so space was and is rare. A lot of little steep streets curl up the different hills. Houses are build on the smallest spaces and painted in brightest colors. One could stroll through these beautiful labyrinths for hours, which I did :-)
Saturday I went out with some guys. After a Chinese dinner, Rob mixed some delicious Pisco Sours for us. Awesome! Thanks Rob! Not only for the Piscos, but also for treating me several times in Valpo. Much appreciated! Afterward we went to Club Proa. A really great Club full of locals and a great ambiance. Thanks Antje for all your great Valpo tips! I was still in dancing mood afterward, so I went to the Rock bar. Unfortunately the did not play any rock this evening, but some kind of dark electro. Even if I fitted in quite well with my black traveling dress (well, did not have a mesh shirt ;-) the electronic music did not stimulate me for some heavy dancing, so I went back to the hostel after a few minutes.
As I decided to wait here for Claudi, I had more time to explore and enjoy this marvelous city.
Colorful greetings
Michael
