The Alps – Krottenkopf

Melanie did it again: Motivating me to spend time outdoors. Awesome! This time, she took me for a weekend into the Bavarian Prealps. I was lured into this trip with the promise to spend a night at the Weilheimer Hütte, a relaxed day up and a relaxed day down. Unfortunately, the mountain hut was fully booked, so Melanie decided to do the planned two days hike in just one :-o

So we got up early the next morning for a trip all the way up the the Krottenkopf. And back. After a steep trek uphill, we were greeted by best sunshine weather that lasted the whole day. From the top of the Krottenkopf (2086 m) we had a great view of the surrounding mountains of the Bavarian Alps. After a nice lunch and a beer in the sun on the terrace of the Weilheimer Hütte we started to hike back to Farchant. Great hike, sunshine weather, awesome company, good talks! And a girl who almost outrun me. Fantastic day! Thanks beautiful lady!

After a nice vegan dinner in Garmisch it was time to enjoy our bunk beds (Melanie booked a double in the Farchant youth hostel ;-) The next morning we had to leave right after breakfast. But we’ll (hopefully) be back next year!

The way back.

Sunny greetings and a big dose of fresh mountain air
Michael

PS: Special greets to all my Munich friends! Apologies for not saying “hi”… but I guess you would have all been busy with the Oktoberfest anyway.
