After the relaxed days in Valpo it was time for Santiago to meet R\u00fcdiger. We arrived a day before him and thus had time to explore downtown Santiago and the Cerro Santa Lucia. Which is a small hill located within the city. A peaceful hideaway in the big city. Perfect place to sit in the sun and read a book.<\/p>\n

Next day we met R\u00fcdiger at the airport. First visitor on this trip! Chapeau! As promised, R\u00fcdiger brought my big backpack, my hiking boots, my warm sleeping bag, my camping mat, tent, stove, and some other stuff, so we and I were ready for Patagonia. Big big thanks R\u00fcdiger!<\/strong> Unfortunately, thus also meant the end of “light traveling” for the time being. Quite a change.<\/p>\n

After getting the stuff to the hostel, we went to the nice neighborhood of Barrio Brasil, ’cause R\u00fcdiger was more than keen to get his first Pisco Sour after he had read all our<\/a> raves<\/a> about it. Unfortunately, the Chilean Pisco Sour is quite different from the Peruvian one. And the Peruvian wins the competition with ease! Sorry Chile. And bad luck for R\u00fcdiger :-(<\/p>\n

We visited the Cerro San Cristobal in the afternoon and Claudia and I went out at night. We found a nice club with quite good music<\/a> and even if it was quite empty (hm, what to expect on a Wednesday?), we danced. Yeah! Missed it a lot!<\/p>\n
