The Andaman Sea. Round about 200 islands are scattered around the Krabi coastline. Some are just steep limestone rocks rising from the sea. Others are larger and have white sandy beaches. Don’t forget the palms and the green jungle vegetation. Nor the coral reefs under the water. This is the region where the classic postcard shots from Thailand are taken.<\/p>\n

Jumped on a boat for a day trip to four of these beautiful places. Luckily, I met Jeremy from Switzerland on the boat, whom I liked from the first minute. And had a great day exploring the islands with him. Thanks Jeremy for the great company!<\/strong><\/p>\n

First stop was Koh Poda, a small island with long white beaches and turquoise blue water around. Swimming in the warm water looking at the impressive limestone rock rising out of the sea some hundred meters away was just great. After the refreshing swim Jeremy and I took a walk exploring the beach line of the island.<\/p>\n

Next stop Koh Gai, also called chicken island due to the rock formation that looks like a head and neck of a chicken watching over the sea. Here we grabbed snorkeling equipment and jumped into the water. Wow. Colorful fishes all around. Amazing!<\/p>\n

Afterward we had a swim and walk at Tup island, which is connected with an Y-shaped sand bank to two other small islands. When you walk on the small stretch of sand that connects the three islands waves are coming from both sides.<\/p>\n

Last stop was Phranang Beach. I guess it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand, if not in the whole world. The scenery is just amazing. A long, curved beach which one of the finest sand grains I ever put my feet on. Karst rock formations on both ends and when looking out to the sea. And waves crushing in. Wohoooo!<\/p>\n

On the way back, we got a free shower to wash off the salty sea water :-)<\/p>\n
