Next stop on my way south was Lake Chini, which is basically a series of 12 lakes, together forming the second largest fresh water lake in Malaysia. Main reasons for the visit was the good timing, ’cause between August and September the lotus flowers blossom.<\/p>\n

With the great help of Mr. Lee<\/a> I arrived happy and safe at the Rajan Jones Guesthouse. The most time I was the only guest at the guesthouse, thus I had to book an exclusive (and rather expensive) boat trip to the lake. However, Pauline from the guesthouse managed to get me a discount! Thanks Pauline!<\/strong> The trip to the lake was very nice. Big walls of reef, a wide open landscape and beautiful lotus flowers.<\/p>\n

With basically unlimited tea, good food and a fantastic book I had two very nice and relaxed days there. No internet, no noise, just beautiful nature and silence. Thanks Pauline for the good food and interesting talks!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

The book was “Die B\u00fccherdiebin (The Book Thief)”. I read it in German, and it is just awesome. Markus Zusak (and the translator Alexandra Ernst) are miraculously playing with words. The story is full of beauty and love. Magical! One of the best books, I’ve ever read. Strongly recommended!<\/p>\n
