Next stop on the way South was Cuenca, a colonial city. Took quite some time to get there by bus and I was happy that I had the pleasurable company of Babsi and was not travelling alone.

After a look at the nice city we went shopping. Babsi was looking for a hat for her mother so we went to THE hatter of Cuenca who is manufacturing the famous Panama hats. Yes, the Panama hat has an Ecuadorian origin (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panama_hat if you don’t believe me). Afterward I was looking for a nice Christmas present for Elli.

Aloha
