Vilcabamba – Charging batteries

After all the traveling it was time for some relaxed time. Especially as my stomach was still not fine. So Babsi and I went to Vilcabamba, a town where people grow very old. Stayed in the nice Hosteria Izhcayluma a few kilometers outside of the town. Very nice place for a longer stay. Nice dorms, big garden (with pool!), good food and a bar for a drink in the evening. And Dieter and Peter are very friendly and helpful owners. Thanks guys!

The first day I went on a beautiful hike with Babsi around the surrounding mountains. A nice way all along a ridge line called the Mandango loop. It felt good to do some hiking again. The nice surroundings and the fun with Babsi did the rest in making this a great day!

The remaining days here I did not do too much as I did not feel too good. Worked a bit, answered a few emails and relaxed a lot. Had a few beers and cocktails in the bar. Well, nothing special at all but exactly what I wanted to do at this place: Charging my batteries.

Went to a lab again on my last day in Vilcabamba and wohhooo… they found that I had some parasites. However, treatment was very easy: Six pills over three days and they lost the battle :-) And I felt fine again! Yeah!

Big thanks to Babsi, my travel companion for the last seven days! Good talks! Nice hikes! A few drinks! Funny insults ;-) All in all an awesome time! And thanks for your generous update of my travel medicines. Pfiat’ di!
